On December 25, 1975, Chan Chenda, 25 yeras old, a medical staff in battalion 513, region 5 defected to national military authority in Thmei village, at UA 280-055, bringing along 1 Chinese gun. The defector said the unit located at UA 290-150 in Siem Reap province and consisted of 200 soldiers equipped with a variety of guns. The source also said all troops in region 5 attemped to attack Phnom Srok district in the coming dry season.
ករណីថ្ងៃទី២៥ ខែធ្នូ ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៥ ចាន់ ចិន្ដា អាយុ២៥ឆ្នាំ ជា ពេទ្យយោធានៃកងទ័ពវរសេនាតូច៧១៣ តំបន់៥ បានចូលមករួម រស់នៅចំពោះមុខអាជ្ញាធរយោធាយើងនៅភូមិថ្មី អ៊ុយអា ២៨០-០៥៥ ដោយនាំមកនូវកាំភ្លើងចិន១ដើមផង។ សាមុីជនបានប្រាប់ ថាអង្គភាពនេះមានគ្នា ២០០នាក់ មានទីតាំងនៅអ៊ុយអា ២៩០-១៥០ ខេត្ដសៀមរាប មានអាវុធដូចជា ម៉កចេ៨១មីលីម៉ែត្រ១ដើម ម៉កចេ៦០មីលីម៉ែត្រ១ដើម ១២,៧ ១ដើម បេ៤០ បេ៤៩ និងកាំ ភ្លើងដៃចម្រុះ។ ប្រភពឱ្យដឹងថាកងទ័ពតំបន់លេខ៥ទាំងអស់ មានបំណង វាយស្រុកភ្នំស្រុក ឱ្យទាល់តែបាន ក្នុងរដូវច្រូតកាត់រួចក្នុងឆ្នាំ១៩៧៥។
