Kang Kaom was forced by the liberated force to Sdok Snat village in May 1973. During his stay in this village he was required to carry the injured and food supplies from time to time. Besides, he spent time farming in his home village along with other villagers. One day in January 1974, when he went out to harvest his rice, he was arrested by the national force.
កង កោម ត្រូវបានកងទ័ពខ្មែររំដោះកៀរប្រមូលឱ្យទៅនៅភូមិ ស្ដុកស្នាតនៅខែឧសភា ១៩៧៣។ រយៈកាលរស់នៅភូមិនេះសាម៉ីខ្លួន ត្រូវបានកងទ័ពប្រើឱ្យសែងអ្នករបួស និងស្បៀងម្ដងម្កាលប៉ុណ្ណោះ ក្រៅពីនោះសាម៉ីខ្លួនបានឆ្លៀតទៅធ្វើស្រែរបស់ខ្លួននៅភូមិកំណើត ជាមួយអ្នកស្រុកផេ្សងៗទៀត។ ថ្ងៃមួយក្នុងខែមករា ១៩៧៤ ពេលដែលសាម៉ីខ្លួនចេញដំណើរទៅច្រូតស្រូវជាមួយអ្នកស្រុកក៍ត្រូវ កងទ័ពជាតិចាប់ខ្លួនតែម្ដង។
