On November 5, 1973, Battalion 39 of armed Khmer Communists came from Chamkar Lae district and stayed in Sandek village for one day. In the next morning, they headed to Kampong Chhnang province. Their aim was to attack Kampong Chhnang in water recede season.
កាលពីថ្ងៃទី៥-វិច្ឆិកា-១៩៧៣ ខ្មែរកុម្មុយនិស្ដមួយកងវរៈសេនាតូច លេខ៣៩ ប្រដាប់អាវុធបានធ្វើចលនាចុះពីស្រុកចំការលើ ចូលមក ឈប់សម្រាកនៅភូមិសណ្ដែ រហូតទល់ព្រឹកទើបចេញពីទីនោះឆ្ពោះ សំដៅទៅកំពង់ឆ្នាំងវិញ។ ខ្មាំងមានគោលបំណងប្រុងវាយកំពង់ឆ្នាំង នូវរដូវទឹកសម្រក។
