Suon Hat joined Khmer Communist in January 1974 and became combatant of battalion 729, region 30. He was arrested on his first time of fighting in O Kraing Ambal battle field of Kampong Speu.
សួន ហាត ចូលបម្រើខ្មែរកុម្មុយនិស្ដនៅខែមករា ១៩៧៤ ជាយុទ្ធជន នៃកងវរសេនាលេខ៧២៩ តំបន់៣០។ តាំងពីចូលធ្វើយុទ្ធជនមក សាម៉ីខ្លួនមិនដែលចេញប្រយុទ្ធទេទើបតែលើកទី១ដែលខ្លួនបានចូលប្រយុទ្ធ ជាមួយកងទ័ពម្ដងនេះគត់ហើយត្រូវបាន កងទ័ពជាតិចាប់ខ្លួនតែម្ដង នៅសមរភូមិប្រយុទ្ធអូរក្រាំងអំបល់ កំពង់ស្ពឺ។
