In June 1970, after Viet Cong had attacked and seized control of Tbeng village, Sar Soeun took one PM
gun, 300 bullets and 4 granades and surrendered to Viet Cong. Then, he defected to Laos to join a battalion, which was under the command of Lim Sisa At. 4 months later, he surrendered to brigade 37. នៅខែមិថុនា ១៩៧០ ក្រោយពីពួកយៀកកុងបានវាយប្រហារត្បែងមានជ័យបែកហើយ សរ សឿន បានយកអាវុធប៉េអ៊ឹមចិនមួយដើមគ្រាប់៣០០គ្រាប់បែកដៃ៤គ្រាប់ ទៅចុះចូលជាមួយ និងយួនយៀកកុង ក្រោយ មកបានរត់ទៅស្រុកលាវ ដើម្បីចុះចូលជាមួយកងវរសេនាតូច លោក លឹម ស៊ីសាអាត។ បន្ទាប់ពីនៅក្នុងកងវរសេនាតូចនោះបាន៤ខែ សាម៉ីជនបានមកដើម្បីចុះចូលធើ្វជាទាហានក្នុងកងពលតូច៣៧។
