Chum was chief of unit D-45, region 23, Kok Sramar village used to take a course on military technology and politics. In 1970, he was chief of section B and from 1971 to 1972, he was chief of section C. Finally, in 1973, he was chief of section E-45, Region 23.
ឈ្មោះ ជុំ មានតួនាទីជាប្រធាន ឃ.៤៥ តំបន់២៣ ក្នុងភូមិគោក ស្រម៉រ បានធ្លាប់ឆ្លងវគ្គបចេ្ចកទេសយោធា-នយោបាយ ចេះអក្សរ ខ្មែរបានគួរសម។ ក្នុងឆ្នាំ១៩៧០ ឈ្មោះនេះមានតួនាទីជាប្រធាន«ខ» កងទ័ពតំបន់ ឆ្នាំ១៩៧១-១៩៧២ ឈ្មោះនេះជាប្រធាន«គ» ក្នុងតំបន់ និងនៅឆ្នាំចុងក្រោយ១៩៧៣ មានតួនាទីជាប្រធា«ឃ»៤៥។
