On 18 September 1973, about 800 armed Khmer rebels in battalion 307 under the command of comrade Heang equiped with 82 mm and 60 mm artillery, headed to Kampong Cham in order to back up his troop who was fighting there.
កាលពីថ្ងៃទី១៨ ខែកញ្ញា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៣ មានពួកខ្មែរឧទ្ទាមចំនួនប្រហែល ៨០០នាក់ នៅក្នុងតំបន់វរសេនាតូច៣០៧ ក្រោមកបញ្ជាការមិត្ដ ហៀង មានអាវុធគ្រប់ដៃ ពិសេសមានកាំភើ្លងត្បាល់ធុន៨២មីលីម៉ែត្រ៦០មីលីម៉ែត្រផងដែរ, បានធើ្វចលនាទៅខេត្ដកំពង់ចាម ដើម្បីជួយកង ទ័ពរបស់វាដែលកំពុងប្រតិបតិ្ដការណ៍នៅទីនោះ។
