So Om aka So Yoeun was an artilery shooter of the group 2 of platoon 21, company 62, artillery battalion 136. So Om joined the platoon at 1972 in region 33. He defected to republic regime because he was not satisfied with their leadership. The platoon had 12 armed soldiers led by a commander named Sun Heng, positioned in Tbong Damrei village at the point VT 848-495. The platoon's assignment was just to fire guns to reinforce infantry during the battle. They encouraged all the soldier to keep moving forward. The spirit of the soldiers was greatly low as a result of hardship, lack of freedom, and lack of food supplies and ammunitions.
សូ អុំ ហៅ សូ យឿន ជាអ្នកបាញ់កាំភ្លើងធំក្នុងក្រុមទី២ កង អនុសេនា តូចទី ២១ អនុសេនាធំ ៦២ វរសេនាតូចកាំភ្លើងធំ ១៣៦។ ជននេះ បានចូលរួមបម្រើក្នុងកងឯកភាពនេះតាំងពីឆ្នាំ១៩៧២ ប្រចាំតំបន់ ៣៣ ហើយការចូលរួមដោយសារមិនពេញចិត្ដនឹងរបប គ្រប់គ្រងរបស់ពួកវា។ កងឯកភាពនេះមានកម្លាំងទ័ពចំនួន១២០នាក់ ប្រដាប់ដោយអាវុធគ្រប់ធុន ស្ថិតិនៅក្រោមការគ្រប់គ្រងរបស់មេបញ្ជា ការឈ្មោះ ស៊ុន ហេង ដែលមានទីតាំងនៅក្នុងភូមិត្បូង ដំរីត្រង់វីតេៈ៨៤៨-៤៩៨។ តួនាទីរបស់កងនេះគឺចាំបាញ់គាំទ្រកងទ័ពថ្មើរជើងនៅតាមសមរភូមិប្រយុទ្ធ ពួកវាបានបំផុសទឹកចិត្ដ យុទ្ធជនឱ្យខំពង្រឹងស្មារតីប្រយុទ្ធទៅមុខជានិច្ច។ ទឹកចិត្ដយុទ្ឋជន ទាំងអស់មានការថយចុះយ៉ាងខ្លាំងបណ្ដាលមកពីជួបប្រទះ ការលំបាក វេទនា ខ្វះសិទ្ធិសេរីភាព ខ្វះស្បៀងអាហារនិងគ្រាប់រំសេវ។
