Thiounn Prasit, permanent Representative of Democratic Kampuchea, sent a letter dated 6 July 1981 to the United Nations addressed to the Secretary General. The letter focused on «the problem of Kampuchea and its solution».
ជួន ប្រាសិទ្ធ អ្នកតំណាងអចិន្ដ្រៃយ៍នៃកម្ពុជាប្រជាធិបតេយ្យ បានផ្ញើ សំបុត្រមួយច្បាប់ចុះថ្ងៃទី៦ ខែកក្កដា ឆ្នាំ១៩៨១ ទៅកាន់អគ្គលេខា ធិការអង្គការសហប្រជាជាតិ, លិខិតនេះផ្ដោតសំខាន់ទៅលើបញ្ហានៃកម្ពុជា និងដំណោះស្រាយ។
