US acceptance of a moderating role in the conflict would not bring immediate results. But the alternative was a policy that only heightened tensions in the region, and handed a major strategic advantage to the Soviet unnecessarily, without doing anything to help Cambodia.
សហរដ្ឋអាមេរិកប្រកាន់យកនូវតួកណ្ដាលនៅបញ្ហាជម្លោះដែលមិនទាន់អាច នឹង ដឹងពីលទ្ធផលភ្លាមៗបានប៉ុន្ដែអ្វីដែលជាជម្រើស នោះគឺគោលនយោ បាយ ដែលជាសម្ពាធដ៏តាន តឹងបំផុតនៅក្នុងតំបន់និង កាន់កាប់នូវយុទ្ធ សាស្ដ្រដ៏ចម្បង ដែលជាប្រយោជន៍ដល់សហគមន៍សូវៀតដោយគ្មានបាន ធ្វើអ្វីដែលចាំបាច់សោះ សម្រាប់ជួយដល់ប្រទេសកម្ពុជា។
