The non-communist Khmer People's National Liberation Front had shifted to a guerrilla warfare strategy in its battles against Vietnamese troops in Cambodia. During the first year of the new strategy, it faced a wave of Vietnamese arrests, internal difficulties and problems with the Khmer Rouge, Thailand and China.
រណសិរ្សរំដោះជាតិប្រជាជនខ្មែរមិនមែនកម្មុយនិស្ដបានប្ដូរនូវយុទ្ធសាស្ដ្រ សង្គ្រាមរបស់កងឈ្លបនៅក្នុងក្បួនចម្បាំងដែលប្រឆាំងទៅនឹងកងទ័ពវៀត ណាមដែលមាននៅក្នុងប្រទេសកម្ពុជា, ក្នុងអំឡុងឆ្នាំដំបូងនៃការប្រើយុទ្ធ សាស្ដ្រថ្មីបានប្រឈបមុខទៅនឹងការផ្ទុះឡើងនៃការចាប់ខ្លួនជនជាតិវៀត ណាម ផលវិបាកផ្ទៃក្នុងនិងបញ្ហាប្រឈមដែលមានជាមួយនឹងខ្មែរក្រហម ប្រទេសថៃ និងប្រទេសចិន។
