Mohm Phat was a small orphaned survivor of the butchered land of Cambodia. Her family had been wiped out by Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge guerrillas for the crime of belonging to the urban middle-class.
មុំ ផាត គឺជាកេ្មងកំព្រាដែលរួចជីវិតសល់ពីភ្លើងសង្គ្រាមនៃការកាប់សម្លាប់ នៅក្នុងដែនដីនៃប្រទេសកម្ពុជា។ គ្រួសាររបស់នាងដែលដែលជាវណ្ណៈថ្នាក់ កណ្ដាលដោយចេញដោយក្រុមឧទ្ទាមខ្មែរក្រហមនាសម័យ ប៉ុល ពត។
