Although most observers agreed that the worst excesses of the reign of terror were over, the battle continued to mould a new Cambodia. Estimates of the numbers killed since the triump in early 1975 were impossible to calculate. However, there was no doubt that besides the top seven traitors in Lon Nol regime, large number of lower civilian and military personel of the former administration had been executed.
មានអ្នកសងេ្កតការណ៍ជាច្រើនបានយល់ព្រមថា ការបំផ្លិចបំផ្លាញដ៏អាក្រក់បំផុតនៃរជ្ជកាលនៃឧក្រិដ្ឋកម្មគឺត្រូវបានបព្ចាប់ សមរភូមិសង្គ្រាមបានបន្ដជាដុំៗ នៅកម្ពុជា។ ការប៉ាងស្មានលើអត្រាស្លាប់ចាប់តាំងពីជ័យជំនះនៅដើមឆ្នាំ១៩៧៥ គឺមិនអាចធ្វើទៅបាន។ ប៉ុន្ដែមិនមានអ្វីគួរឱ្យសង្ស័យទេថា ក្រៅពីអ្នកក្បត់ជាតិទាំង៧នាក់ នៅក្នុងរបប លន់ នល់ ជនស៊ីវិលថ្នាក់ទាបមានអត្រាខ្ពស់ និង អតីតមន្ដ្រីរជ្ជកាលនៃយោធាទ័ពត្រូវបានសម្លាប់។
