The Vietnamese army won a major victory over the Khmer Rouge. Led by hundred of tanks and backed by air and artillery strikes, Hanoi's troops and their Cambodian rebel allies overran the entire Eastern third of the country.
កងទ័ពវៀតណាមបានទទួលជ័យជម្នះយ៉ាងអស្ចារ្យទៅលើទ័ពខ្មែរក្រហម។ នាំមុខដោយរថក្រោះជាច្រើនរយគ្រឿង និង នៅពីក្រោយដោយយន្ដហោះ និងកាំភ្លើងធំជាច្រើន។ កងទ័ពហាណូយ និង ក្រុមបះបោរចលនាជាតិនិយមរួមគ្នាលុកលុយនៃការចូលក្នុងភូមិភាគទី៣ខាងកើតនៃប្រទេស។
