The invading Vietnamese forces number about 180,000 served as occupation force and mainstay of the Hanoi-Backed government of the People's Republic of Kampuchea of President Heng Samrin. The Vietnamese attack drove another 30,000 Kampuchea civilian refugees to Thailand.
