Former officer in the US backed Cambodian army had escaped to Thailand by a helicopter he flew from Phnom Penh. Ly Lin Kian flew a US built UH-1 helicopter into the province's Thamai district. He asked for permission to remain in Thailand until he received permission to stay in France.
អតីតមន្ដ្រីយោធាដែលគាំទ្រដោយសហរដ្ឋអាមេរិក បានរត់គេចខ្លួនពីភ្នំពេញទៅកាន់ តាមប្រទេសថៃ តាមរយៈមធ្យោបាយឧទ្ធម្ភាគចក្រ។ លី លីនកៀន បានហោះទៅស្រុកថាម៉ៃ តាមរយៈឧទ្ធម្ភាគចក្រម៉ូឧែន យូអេក-១ របស់សហរដ្ឋអាមេរិក។ លោកបានស្នើរសុំសិទ្ធអនុពា្ញតដើម្បីស្នាក់រស់នៅក្នុងទឹកដីប្រទេសថៃ រហូតដល់លោកទទួលបានសិទ្ធិរស់នៅក្នុងប្រទេសបារាំង។
