The convention on the prevention and punishment of crime of genocide makes the mass killing of national, racial, ethical, and religious group an international crime. In 1946, after the Nuremberg trials and other war crime tribunals, the UN general Assembly state genocide is crime under international law.
អនុសញ្ញាស្ដីពីការការពារនិងការដាក់ទណ្ឌកម្មចំពោះឧក្រិដ្ឋកម្មប្រល័យពូជ សាសន៍បង្កើតឱ្យមានការសម្លាប់រង្គាលនៃ ប្រជាជាតិ សាសន៍ ជនជាតិ និងក្រុមសាសនា នៃឧក្រិដ្ឋកម្មអន្ដរជាតិ។ ក្នុងឆ្នាំ១៩៤៦បន្ទាប់តុលាការ នូរិមប៊ែកនិងតុលាការឧក្រិដ្ឋកម្មសង្គ្រាមរបស់មហាសន្និបាតអង្គការសហ ប្រជាជាតិគឺស្ថិតនៅក្រោមច្បាប់អន្ដរជាតិ។
