A New York based human rights organization had started a campaign to have the Khmer Rouge trial for genocide before the international court of justice. The Khmer Rouge rule of Cambodia from 1975 to 1979 was blamed for more than a million deaths.
អង្គការសិទ្ធិមនុស្សដែលតាំងមូលដ្ឋាននៅទីក្រុងញ៉ូវយ៉ក បានចាប់ផ្ដើមធ្វើយុទ្ធនាការដើម្បីឱ្យមានការជម្រះក្ដីទៅលើអំពើប្រល័យពូជ សាសន៍ដែលបង្កឡើងដោយខ្មែរក្រហមឱ្យមានមុនតុលាការយុតិ្ដធម៌អន្ដរជាតិ។ ក្រុមខ្មែរក្រហមចាប់ផ្ដើមគ្រប់គ្រងប្រទេសកម្ពុជាចាប់ពីឆ្នាំ១៩៧៥-១៩៧៩ដែលបានបន្ទោសពីការសម្លាប់ប្រជាជនជាងមួយលាននាក់។
