This excerpt from S-21 interrogator's manual is one of several references to the policy, practice and problems of torture. Other sections deal with the ours of work, the preparation of documents and reports, the attitude of the interrogator, the importance of maintaining secrecy, the relations of special branch to communist party of Kampuchea and the revolution and its enemies.
