Ending five-year exile in Peking, Prince Norodom Sihanouk returned to Cambodia and was given the title of chief of state by the new communist rulers. Prince Sihanouk said that he had decided six years ago to resign from political life once he had accompanied his country went to victory.
ក្រោយពេលបញ្ចប់ កានិទេសទៅកាន់ប៉េកាំងរយៈពេលប្រាំឆ្នាំ សមេÒចនរោតÒមសីហនុ ត្រឡប់មកកម"ុជាវិញហើយត្រូវបានប្រគល់នូវតំណែងជាប្រមុខរដ្ឋ ដោយមេដឹកនាំកុម្មុយនិសÒថ្មី។ សមេÒចសីហនុបាននិយាយថា គាត់បានធ្វើកាសមេ្រចចិតÒតាំងពី ៦ឆ្នាំមុន ក្នុងកាលាលែងតំណែងចាកចេញពីវិស័យនយោបាយនៅពេលដែលខ្លួនបានអមដំណើរប្រទេសទៅកាន់ជ័យជំនះ។
