Net Phounary, a refugee, said that after the fall of Phnom Penh in April 1975, the communists put in jail all engineers, doctors and teachers, whom they planned to destroy as dangerous intellectuals.
ណែត ភូណារី ជាជនភៀសខ្លួនកម្ពុជា បាននិយាយថា ក្រោយពីដួលរលំក្នុងក្រុងភ្នំពេញក្នុងខែមេសា ១៩៧៥។ ពួកកុម្មនិស្ដបានចាប់វិស្វករ វេជ្ជបណ្ឌិត សាស្ដ្រចារ្យ ដាក់គុកទាំងអស់។ អ្នកដែលកុម្មុយនិស្ដគ្រោងផែនការយកទៅសម្លាប់ចោល ដោយពួកគេគិតថា ពួកបព្ញាវន្ដជាពួកបំផ្លាញបដិវត្ដន៍។
