At dawn one morning, young Khmer Rouge troops marched into Phnom Penh forcing city people out of it. The only human presence was several battalions of Communist soldier. Phnom Penh was empty because its 2 million people were forced into the countryside.
នៅពេលទាបភ្លឺនៃព្រឹកមួយ កងទ័ពវ័យកេ្មងរបស់ខ្មែរក្រហមបានសម្រុកចូលក្នុងទីក្រុងភ្នំពេញដើម្បីបង្ខំឱ្យប្រជាជននៅតាមទីក្រុងចេញពីក្រុង។ វត្ដមានរបស់មនុស្សដែលអាចនៅបានតែកងវរសេនាតូចនៃកងទ័ពកុម្មុយនិស្ដ។ ទីក្រុងភ្នំពេញហាក់មានភាពស្ងាត់មានភាពស្ងាត់ជ្រងំ (ទរទេរស្អាត) ដោយសារតែប្រជាជន២នាក់ត្រូវបានបណេ្ដញចេញឱ្យទៅរស់នៅតាមជនបទ។
