One of the main purposes of the United Nations is to bring about by peaceful means and in conformity with the principles of justice and international law, adjustment or settlement of international disputes or situations which might lead to a breach of the peace. It was with this object the UN charter created the international court of justice as one of the principal organs of the UN.
គោលបំណងមួយដ៏សំខាន់នៃអង្គការសហប្រជាជាតិគឺដើម្បីនាំមកនូវដោយ សន្ដិវិធី និងក្នុងការយល់ព្រមជាមួយនឹងគោលការណ៍យុត្ដិធម៌និងច្បាប់ អន្ដរជាតិសម្របសម្រួលនិងការដោះស្រាយនៃជម្លោះអន្ដរជាតិ ឬព្រឹត្ដការណ៍ ដែលនាំទៅរកការបែកបាក់នៃសន្ដិភាព ដែលបានប្រឆាំង ទៅនិងកាតិសញ្ញារបស់អង្គការសហប្រជាតិ បានបង្កើតតុលាការយុត្ដិធម៌ អន្ដរជាតិដែលជាផ្នែកមួយនៃអង្គការសហប្រជាជាតិ។
