The purpose of the interview is to document and tell the world about the suffering of the Cambodian people under the Khmer Rouge rule. It is important for the next generation to know this destruction so that they will not step into that stage again in the future.
គោលបំណងនៃការសម្ភាសន៍គឺដើម្បីចងក្រងឯកសារនិងប្រាប់ទៅពិភព លោកលធ្វើទុក្ខបុកមេ្នញ (ទារុណកម្ម) មកលើប្រជាជនកម្ពុជាក្រោយ សម័យខ្មែរក្រហម។ វាមានសារសំខាន់ណាស់សម្រាប់កេ្មងជំនាន់ក្រោយ យល់ដឹងពីការបំផ្លិចបំផ្លាញនេះដូចេ្នះពួកគេមិនត្រូវដើរតាមគន្លងចាស់ម្ដង ទៀតទេ នាពេលអនាគត។
