Elizabeth Becker, Washington Post writer, and Richard Dudmon were promised a joint interview with Pol Pot, the Prime Minister of Cambodia. They were told to summit their questions in writing, and nothing happened. Finally, the day before they were to leave Cambodia, an official come and informed that the Prime Minister would see them in 15 minutes. Instead of answering the submitted questions, Pol Pot launched into a polemic about Vietnam's threat to his country. At last, the interpreter told them that written answers to their questions would be given the next day.
អេលីហ្ស៉ាប៊ែត បេឃ័រ អ្នកសរសេរសារព័ត៌មាន វ៉ាស៊ីងតោន បុសÒិ៍ និងឆាត ត្រូវបានទទួលណាត់ជួបក្នុងកិច្ចសម្ភាសន៍រួមជាមួយប៉ុល ពត នាយករដ្ឋមន្រÒីកម"ុជា។ ពួកគេត្រូវបានគេប្រាប់ឱ្យដាក់សំនួររបស់ពួកគេជាលាយលក្ខណ៍អក្សរ ហើយគ្មានអ្វីបានកើតឡើងទាំងអស់។ ទីបំផុត នៅថ្ងៃមុនពេលពួកគេចាកចេញពីកម"ុជា មន្រÒីម្នាក់បានមកប្រាប់ថានាយករដ្ឋមន្រÒី នឹងជួបពួកគេក្នុងរយៈពេល១៥នាទីទៀត។ ជាជាងកាឆ្លើយសំនួរដែលបានដាក់មក ប៉ុល ពតបានសរសេរការិះគន់យ៉ាងធ្ងន់ៗសÒីអំពីកាគម្រាមកំហែងរបស់វៀតណាម មកលើប្រទេសរបស់លោក។ ចុងបញ្ចប់អ្នកបកប្រែបានប្រាប់ពួកគេថាចម្លើយសរសេរសម្រាប់សំនួររបស់ពួកគេនឹងត្រូវប្រគល់ជូននៅថ្ងៃបន្ទាប់។
