In numerous interviews in refugee camps, those who had seen both side of the conflict said that they would prefer to take their chance on peace. There were no reliable statistics on families seperated by the conflict, but the capital alone was swollen by more than a million refugees.
ជនភៀសខ្លួនជាច្រើនផ្ដល់សម្ភាសន៍នៅជំរុំជនភៀសខ្លួន អ្នកដែលបានឃើញភាគីទាំងពីរនៃជម្លោះបាននិយាយថា ពួកគេគ្រាន់តែផ្លាស់ប្ដូរទៅរកសន្ដិភាព។ គ្មានស្ថិតិគួរឱ្យទុកចិត្ដណាមួយស្ដីពីគ្រួសារដែលបានបែកបាក់គ្នាដោយសារជម្លោះប៉ុន្ដែរាជធានីតែមួយប៉ុណ្ណោា ត្រូវបានកើតឡើងជនភៀសខ្លួនជាង១លាននាក់។
