The Vietnamese had dropped the non-negotiable language from their diplomatic vocabulary and were proposing a Geneva type conference in which Cambodia would be a major topic. But ASEAN was backpedalling from its former argument on the importance of getting to the negotiating table to discuss the Cambodian problem.
ជនជាតិវៀតណាមបានបោះបង់ចោលភាសាដែលមិនមែនប្រើតាមបែបលក្ខណៈវាក្យស័ព្ទការទូត ហើយនឹងត្រូវបានស្នើសុំឱ្យធ្វើឡើងនូវសន្និសីទមួយ ប្រភេទនៅហ្សឺណែវ ដែលយកប្រទេសកម្ពុជាធ្វើជាប្រធានបទដែលក្ដៅ ប៉ុន្ដែ អាស៊ានដែលនៅគាំទ្រពីអតីតអាគុយម៉ង់របស់ខ្លួនស្ដីពីសារៈសំខាន់ នៃការយល់ព្រមឱ្យចូលរួមនៅក្នុងវេទិការកិច្ចចរចារសម្រាប់ពិភាក្សាទៅលើ បញ្ហារបស់ប្រជាជនកម្ពុជា។
