The first anniversary of the fall of Phnom Penh on April 17 was marked by a mass rally in the Cambodian capital addressed by President Khieu Samphan. A radio announcement read by Information and Propaganda minister Hou Nim had accepted Sihanouk's request to resign.
ពិធីខួបអបអរសាទរជាលើកដំបូងនៃការដួលរលំក្រុងភ្នំពេញនាថ្ងៃទី១៧ មេសា ១៩៧៥ ត្រូវបានកត់សម្គាល់ដោយការជួបប្រជុំដ៏ធំមួយនៅក្នុងរាជធានីកម្ពុជា បានថ្លែងសុន្ទរកថា ដោយខៀវ សំផន។ សេចក្ដីប្រកាសបានអានដោយ ហូ នឹម ជារដ្ឋមន្ដ្រីព៌តមាន និង ឃោសនាការ តាមរយៈវិទ្យុ បានទទួលសំណើរបស់ សីហនុ លើការលាលែងពីតំណែងប្រមុខរដ្ឋ។
