Pol Pot accompanied by Ieng Sary, who now appeared to be Cambodia's highest ranking leader, arrived in Peking on September 28, 1977. He was greeted at the airport by Prime Minister Hua Kuo-Feng and Teng Hsiao-Ping, the senior deputy Prime Minister.
ប៉ុលពតអមដំណើរដោយអៀង សារី ដែលថ្មីៗនេះបង្ហាញថាជាមេដឹកនាំថ្នាក់ខ"ស់ជាងគេបំផុតរបស់កម"ុជា បានមកដល់ប៉េកំាងពីថ្ងៃទី២៨ ខែកញ្ញា ១៩៧៧។ គាត់ត្រូវបានទទួលស្វាគមន៍នៅឯអាកាសយានដ្ឋានដោយនាយករដ្ឋមន្រÒី ហ៊ូ កូ ហេ្វង និង តេង សៀ ភីងដែលជាឧបនាយករដ្ឋមន្រÒីជាន់ខ"ស់។
