Cambodian Head of State Prince Norodom Sihanouk was double crossed by the Khmer Rouge and so appalled by what he saw on his return. He wept inside his palace, a close aide said. Grass grew in the street, shops were shuttered and cars stood abandoned. The Prince's delegation found that pro-Sihanouk guerrillas who had fought with the communists had vanished without trace.
ប្រមុខរដ្ឋនៃកម្ពុជាព្រះបាននរោត្ដម សីហនុ មានការរន្ធត់ទៅនឹងអ្វីដែលគាត់បានឃើញនៅពេលទ្រង់ត្រឡប់មកប្រទេសវិញ និង ការក្បត់ពីសំណាក់ខ្មែរក្រហម។ សីហនុ បានហូរទឹកភ្នែកដោយការឈឺចាប់ នៅក្នុងព្រះរាជវាំងរបស់គាត់ អ្នកដែលជំនិតខ្លាំងបំផុតបានប្រាប់ឱ្យដឹង។ ស្មៅបានដុះនៅតាមដងផ្លូវហាងជាច្រើនត្រូវបានបិទ ហើយឡានជាច្រើនត្រូវបានបោះបង់ចោលនៅតាមផ្លូវ។ គណៈប្រតិភូរបង់ទ្រង់បានរកឃើញថា ក្រុមតូចឯករាជ្យរបស់សីហនុ ដែលបានប្រឆាំងនឹងក្រុមកុម្មនិស្ដ បានបាត់ខ្លួនដោយគ្មានដានឱ។
