Deputy Premier Khieu Samphan predicted that it would be one or two years before Cambodia could feed or his people and perhaps return to her pre-war role as a food-exporting nation. He asmitted that Cambodia did not have suffiecient food for her seven million inhabitants.
ឧបនាយករដ្ឋមន្ដ្រី ខៀវ សំផន បានព្យាការណ៍ថា ១-២ឆ្នាំ មុននឹងប្រទេសកម្ពុជា អាចនឹងចិញ្ចឹមប្រជាជនរបស់ខ្លួន និង ប្រហែលជាត្រឡប់ទៅពេលមុនសង្គ្រាមមានតួនាទីជា ប្រទេសនាំចេញស្បៀងអាហារ។ វៀវ សំផន គិតថាប្រទេសគ្មានស្បៀងអាហារគ្រប់គ្រាន់ដើម្បីចិពឹ្ចាមប្រជាជនរបស់ខ្លួន៧លាននាក់។
