Main Crime Details :

In approximately 1976, the chief of Prech Commune put me to work as a militiaman, because, compared to others, I was the last person to join the struggle . I served as a security police in Krasaing Kha Village, Sann Kor Commune, Kampong Svay District. Prech assigned me to deliver his letters and to guard a cooperative during the night. I delivered Prech’s letters to the chief of the fishing unit, a district chief named Phol, village chiefs, and other commune chiefs whose names I do not recall.
I witnessed killing. They killed people by using a stick, dropping people into a well, and burying people in the canals. I witnessed the killing in Krasaing Kha Village, Sann Kor Commune, Kampong Svay District. I saw the killing almost every day. Most of the people who were killed were new people who were sympathetic to the former regime or who worked for the former regime before the liberation. Prech arrested people. Using his three subordinates, he came to arrest from five to ten people each time. In approximately 1975, Prech arrested and killed his wife, accusing her of being a traitor who was sympathetic to the Lon Nol regime. In my village, Prech killed Orn, Nguy, and Pen, accusing them of stealing rice. His militiamen informed him that these people had stolen rice. Then Prech brought these three people to An Kanh Village and killed them in 1977. My brother, Un Ling, was accused of being a former Lon Nol soldier and consequently was arrested and killed by the Khmer Rouge. It was approximately in 1975 or 1976 that Peng, the commune chief, arrested my brother. Pen killed my brother in Stong District . During 1978, Prech arrested, detained, and chained me at the commune hall on the accusation of stealing rice. At that time, I was in charge of the dining hall in the economic section. When I was detained there, they did not beat me because I had struggled with them. During three weeks of the detention, there was half a spoon of rice to eat per day . They detained me at a house that was located in Krasaing Kha Village, Sann Kor Commune, Kampong Svay District, Kampong Thom Province. After I underwent re-education, they let me go free. I was assigned to climb palm trees for about a month. I climbed ten palm trees per day. Previously, I had climbed palm trees in Krasaing Kha Village, Sann Kor Commune. Chakk, the main chief of the commune, put me to work building a dam for about a month. I was assigned to carry three cubic meters of dirt. I received a bowl of rice soup to eat at each meal. Those who could not complete the assigned task were not allowed to stop working. They were forced to work until they finished the assigned tasks. Only then could they receive their food rations. I worked to help build the dam in Krasaing Kha Village, Sann Kor Commune. I do not recall the year in which I worked on the dam. |
