Svay Ua is PTSD victim. She got married to Keo Sorng when she was 15 years old. Her husband was sent to kill in Takeo in 1975. She has four children, three sons and a daughter. Three of her sons were killed by Khmer Rouge soldiers. She has 4 elder brothers, but they all died. Her parents died when she was really young.In the Khmer Rouge regime, she was lacking of food, water, shelter. She was imprisonment. She was brainwashed. She was close to death. She was forced to separate from her family members. Recently, she has recurrent thoughts of the most hurtful events. She felt as though the event is happening again. She is unable to feel emotions. She finds it is difficult to concentrate. She has trouble sleeping. She feels irritable. She is avoiding activities that remind her of the traumatic events. She is inability to remember parts of the most traumatic events. She feels as if she does not have a future. She is avoiding thoughts associated with the traumatic experience. She is sudden emotional when reminded of the most hurtful events. She finds it is difficult to perform her dialy task. She blames herself for things that have happened. She feels guilty for having survived. She feels hopelessness. She feels as if she is going crazy. She feels that she is the only one who suffered the events. She feels that she has no one to rely on.
