In late 1976, the Khmer Rouge talked about Samdech Euv [Sihanouk], propagandized us to believe in him. Then in early 1977, they stopped talking about Sihanouk for three or four months only. Photos of Pol Pot were stuck on the wall. In this period, they declared the Pak Kommunist Kampuchea. In early 1977 there were pictures of Pol Pot, at a party meeting. This was the period they began killing people. They began talking about Vietnamese aggression on [our]territory; said they had attacked so many kilometers into Vietnam, how many they'd killed, at meetings after their return. 1977 and 1978.
