Norng Dim called Thim, a soldier of platoon ៈ 2, company ៈ 1, Battalion ៈ 726, the former Battalion ៈ 703, regiment ៈ 75 in region ៈ 304- was arrested during an attack in November 9, 1974 at Ta Peou VU 792-137 by operation forces of Battalion 316, Infantry Division ៈ 79. We seized a M-16 and its 12 cartridges full of bullets. Dim indicated that in his unit there were 250 soldiers equipped with many kinds of weapons such as one 82 mm-cannoned mortar, two 60 mm-cannoned- mortars, four machine guns, One FM, one RPD, ten B-41, twlve M-79, AK-47, M-16, ten DH-mines, and claymor. He also confirmed that during his journey in November 1973 from Sre Viel to Bos Khnol, he found an American who was taken by a military truck, GMC. He saw the American in between Sre Viel and Bos khnol. He did not know where the military truck came from, it just stopped there. The American was in pilot uniform in Kaki color. There was a large blue watch on his left hand and a silver bracelet on his right hand. He was a big and tall man with red-colored skin, short hair, long and large face, pointed nose, large forehead, big arms and legs with hair. Someone said he was an American pilot. When the truck stopped, the man was asked to walk with bare feet, but he refused. The security personnel and soldiers who were escorting him did not take any action for his disobedience and they had better ask the local people to bring hammock in order to bring him to a detention for prisoners of war in the Northern of Speu village and it might be at WU 365-614. At the same time those soldiers told the villagers that such foreigner as this man was worth to Angkar. At the provincial town of Speu WU 358-628 a military cadre said that American prisoner was very useful, because an American we could exchange for 3 tanks or at the time when we country was in peace we could use them for the exchange of equipments used for factories, trucks, ships, airplans etc. Morever, they added that {we had to collect more foreigners}. Dim said that whe he arrived Bos Khnol he found the plane pieces which were on display at WU 355-464, its tail was destroyed by fire, there were only broken head and a right wing. The plane was believed to be F-105.
