At the start of October 17, 1984, the research group embarked on the field study of Treang district for the purpose of asking about the real crimes. Kao Kon, the chairman of the Revolutionary People's Committee, pointed out the human burning furnace and the mass graves. In October 20-21, 1984, the research group went to Prey Kabbas and Angkor Borei districts, specifically Mr. Ong Sem and Mr. Sa Bunthon, to check the detention center in Ruessei Village and Phnom Da in Angkor Borei to find out the destroyed temples.
ព្រឹកថ្ងៃទី១៧ ខែ១០, ១៩៨៤ ក្រុមការងារ ចុះធ្វើការស្រាវជ្រាវ ទៅកាន់ស្រុកទ្រាំង ដើម្បី សាកសួរពីឧក្រិដ្ឋកម្នជាក់ស្តែង។ កៅ កន ប្រធានគណៈ កម្មាធិការប្រជាជនបដិវត្ត លោក បានចង្អុល បង្ហាញ ពី ឡដុតមនុស្ស និងរណ្តៅសាកសពរួម។ ថ្ងៃទី២០-21 ខែ១០ ឆ្នាំ១៩៨៤ ក្រុមសាវជ្រាវបានទៅកាន់ស្រុកព្រៃកប្បាសនិងស្រុកអង្គរបូរីរួមមាន លោក អុង សែម និងលោកសា ប៊ុនថន ចុះទៅពិនិត្យមើលមន្ទីរឃុំឃាំងនៅ ភូមិឬស្សី និងភ្នំដានៅ អង្គរបូរីដើម្បីពីនិត្យប្រាង្គប្រាសាទបូរាណដែលរងការបំផ្លាញ់ពីរបប ប៉ុល ពត។
