Prom Yann was one of those who served as soldiers in the Vietnamese army, for which he was paid a monthly salary of 15 Riel; Prom Yan was trained in North Vietnam for 12 months, two times, and he also worked for the military in regions like Dien Bien Phu, Hanoi, Tay Ninh, and Preah Trapeang (Tra Vinh). Most importantly, he had fought against our revolution. Prom Yan fled from Takeo city on April 17, 1975, to move to Srae Ranaong.
ព្រុំ យ៉ាន់ ធ្វើទាហាន យួនតាំងពីជំនាន់ប្រាក់ខែ១៥រៀលក្នុង១ខែ ទៅនៅរៀនយួន ខាងជើង១២ខែ បានចេញទៅរៀនចំនួន២ដង ហើយបានចេញធ្វើប្រត្តិបត្តិការណ៍ សិកនៅ យៀងប៊ៀនភូ នៅហាណូយនៅ ខេត្តតាយមិញ ស្រុកព្រះត្រពាំង វ៉ៃសំខាន់ជាងគេ គឺវ៉ៃបដិវត្តន៍យើង។ ដល់១៧ មេសា ឆ្នាំ ១៩៧៥ គាត់ចេញពីក្រុងតាកែវ មកនៅស្រែរនោង។ ថ្ងៃ០៧ ខែ០៣ ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៨ ព្រុំ យ៉ាន ត្រូវបក្សស្រុកសម្រេចចាប់ខ្លួន។
