He joined the Vietnamese Army in 1970 and was later transferred to the Region 22 troops. He took up alleged activities against the Khmer Rouge by encouraging people with freedom of movement in an anarchical way, allegedly stealing or looting , ambushing cars and preparing forces to smash the revolution. Angkar arrested him in January 1977.
គាត់បានចូលជាកងទ័ពវៀតណាមនៅឆ្នាំ១៩៧០ និង ក្រោយមកបាន ផ្លាស់ទៅកងទ័ពថ្មើរជើងតំបន់២២។ គាត់បានធ្វើសកម្មភាពប្រឆាំងនឹង ខ្មែរក្រហមដោយលើកទឹកចិត្ដប្រជាជនតាមរយៈចលនាសេរីភាពក្នុងបែប បទអនាធិបតេយ្យ, និយាយគឺ ការលួច ឬ ការប្លន់, ការចាប់ស្ទាក់ឡាន និង រៀបចំកងកម្លាំងដើម្បីបោសសម្អាតបដិវត្ដន៍។ អង្គការបានចាប់ ខ្លួនគាត់ នៅខែមករា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៧។
