On 12 January 1978, about one enemy battalion confronted with us in Veal Kong and Dang Tung. We used to fight with them twice, totally 10 were killed and 15 were wounded. After that, unit 170 fought to get Kampong Rokar, but unfortunately [it] couldn't got successful. Also, we convened battlefield-commander commission and discussed with each other on preparing of mobilizing [small and medium] troop in order to be ready to attack enemies rapidly wherever we would meet them.
កាលពីថ្ងៃទី១២ មករា ១៩៧៨ អំពីខ្មាំងបានប៉ះយើងចំនួនមួយកង វរសេនាតូច នៅវាលកុងដងទង់។ យើងបានវាយវាពីរលើក, ខ្មាំងងាប់ ចំនួន១០ក្បាល, របួស១៥ក្បាល។ បន្ទាប់មកទៀត កង១៧០ បាន វ៉ៃឈ្លបកំពង់រកា ឯលទ្ធផលក្ដាប់មិនបាន។ យើងបានប្រជុំគណៈ កម្មការបញ្ជាការសមរភូមិ ហើយបានពិភាក្សា រៀបចំកម្លាំងរុលទៅមុខ ចាត់តាំងកម្លាំងតូច មធ្យម ប៉ះខ្មាំងកន្លែងណាវាយកន្លែងនោះ។
