Sre Chumro village, Leay Bor commune, Tram Kakk, region 13
Main Crime Details :
Phan was the youth chief in Sre Chumro Village, Leay Bo Commune, Tram Kak District, between 1975 and 1976,. The killing took place in the village. In late 1976, my father was executed, because five or six Khmer Rouge security police came to arrest him at a hospital in Sre Chumro Village, Leay Bo Commune. An elderly man named Saing, the commune chief, captured my father. Since my father knew in advance that he would be killed, he defended himself and then committed suicide by stabbing himself with a knife (a knife used to slice fruit). He stabbed his stomach nine times and then the security police dragged him to the place of execution. My mother and I were there when the incident took place. My father was arrested on the accusation of being a Lon Nol policeman.

My father was buried by Saom, a village chief, who stated that there was only one body in the grave adjacent to Srah Knong of Sre Chumro Village. Soeun, who currently lives in Trapeang Trach Khang Cheung Village, Ang Ta Saom, of Leay Bo Commune, was the executioner.

After 1979, with information provided by Saom, my father’s friend, I exhumed my father’s body and buried it elsewhere. My friends, Mit and Kaey, were executed in 1977 in Trapeang Angkor, Leay Bo Commune, on the accusation that they were going to learn how to grow mushrooms. After walking quite far, they were tied up, executed, and pushed into a grave by Soeun. I witnessed the incident. Kim Von was a Pol Pot cooperative chief who lived in that village.

Even though I was a 17th April person, my living conditions were better than others because I could drive. My aunt, Him Trik, was fully aware of the killing in Ang Ta Saom.

In 1976, I was accused of committing a moral offense and was detained, because I talked to women. Then, a battalion chief who supervised all youth in Tram Kak District, arrested and detained me. Two women, Mom and Sovann (alive,) who were living in Baray Commune, Daun Keo District, were captured. I was detained and brought to Khna Pagoda, a security center of the battalion, located in Leay Bo Commune. I was interrogated and beaten about the head with shoes, and told that I had interrupted their work. After the interrogation, I was given rice to eat. They interrogated me once a day. The division chief of Kampong Ampil, Comrade Nav (female) helped to get me released.
