In early 1977, my father, El Liman, was captured and taken away from the house (a house which belonged to a base person, who was relocated somewhere else). The house was located in Prey Thom Village, Touk Meas District. I did not witness the incident, but my younger brother, Matt Tes (who died in the Khmer Rouge regime) did, because he lived with my father. I lived in another village. Following the arrest of my father that night, my younger brother came to me in the morning and informed me about the incident. They arrested him because “the Khmer Rouge saw him praying in the house.� When the incident took place, two to three security police (young security police) came, but my brother did not tell me their names. My brother followed them and found out that my father was executed at La-ang Mountain. I do not know who is responsible or who ordered those people to kill my father. I think that he was killed, because when someone was taken away, it meant they would be executed. Three days later, they came to arrest the family of my brother, Matt Tes, and the family of my cousin, Math Ly, accusing them of being CIA agents. These two families were taken to Romsuoy Mountain. I am not sure whether they were taken for execution or some other reason, but I have never seen them since. A person who witnessed the incident and informed me is El Ary (who has left for the U.S). I do not know who ordered the arrest of the two families or who arrested them. Because I am really busy with my own work, doing the farming, and religious tasks, I want to file the application form to be a complainant. I do not want to travel to Phnom Penh. I think that my participation is enough. |
