In early summer 1963, he disappeared from his regular job and fled into the maquis (BK, CB, p. 105) ~ In September of 1975, Son Sen expressed an eagerness to garner territory from Vietnam and Thailand ;notes: "...his glorious 'Kampuchean Revolutionary Army' reckoned that Giap's Army represented only a 'mouthful' for them and the miserable army of Kukrit Pramoj and Kriangsak Chamond (Thailand)even less!"
