The death of my parents: In early 1976, my father, Biek Vann, and mother, Dien Nang, died in O Chro Village, O Chro Commune, Preynup District. I do not recall the name of the cooperative. They both died from starvation. I had been evacuated to Samlot and could not stay with them when they were dying. I learned of their death from Vann Mom (my younger sister, currently living in this village) who stayed with my parents when they died. I learned of this incident after the collapse of Pol Pot, when I returned to my homeland. My sister did not tell me how the Khmer Rouge had forced my parents to work. During the regime, they were old. My sister informed me that they were given rice soup to eat. I did not know who was in charge of the village; neither did my sister. I do not know who forced them to work, starved them, or is responsible for their death. I do not know what disease they might have had before their deaths. I want to file the application to be a complainant, because, at present, I am very busy: 1. I am busy doing the farming. 2. I have aged. 3. I have stomach pain. 4. I am busy with religious tasks. I am satisfied that I have filed the application form to be a complainant. |
