Pol Pot eliminated Son Sen from the Khmer Rouge partly line in 1997. He bravely claimed in public that he ordered Son Sen killed. But why? Son Sen alias comrade Khiev was a member of the Khmer Rouge standing committee as well as defense minister in charge of the Democratic Kampuchea national security bureaucracy which cost almost 2 million lives between 1975 and 1979.
