In the early morning of last Tuesday (Aug 2, 1977?)around 100 Khmer Rouge soldiers invaded Ban Sanlo Cha-ngan Village in Taphray a District, Prachinburi Province. Ten minutes later, another Khmer Rouge force raided two adjacent villages, Ban Sa-ngae and Ban Kasang. The raids killed 28 civilians, including women and children, an d one Border Patrol police. Over 20 houses were burnt down. Eyewitness said that they believed the Thai communistes joined the raids since they heard some invaders speaking Thai. Major Suphot Sanhunay a said the army was expecting a new bloody clash soon as its intelligence indicated that the Khmer Rouge was reinforcing its troops in the area opposite north of Taphraya.
