Summary / Abstract :
Thai authorities interfered in Cambodian affairs by co-operating with the Cambodian forces under General Sek Sam Iet, based along the Thai-Cambodian border. His forced, however, behaved like bandits. They usually robbed Cambodian refugees who were trying to cross the border to Thailand, and at the same time worked as intelligence for the Thai authorities. They were the cause of border clashes. Sek Sam Iet's army also worked with the Thai military in smuggling logs from Cambodia to Thailand. If there were clashes between his army and the Thai troops, Thai authorities announced that they were th e work of the Khmer Rouge.
