Summary / Abstract :
Khmer Rouge intrusions have resulted in the worst drop of Prachinburi Province's business in recent times. Some locals moved to safe areas, and many feared that the conflict would turn into full-fledg ed war. Villagers wanted to be armed. Smuggling along the border, which was once very active even after the Khmer Rouge took power, now has ceased absolutely after the government punished those involv ed in the illegal trade with the Khmer Rouge. There were reports of "white-skinned" men who were "well built and larger" than Asian people observed inciting and directing the Khmer Rouge troops. Witne ss said Khmer Rouge soldiers shouted that the village they attacked was helping the Khmer rebels. A road linking Ban Sa Ngae and Ban Sanlo Cha-ngan villages was closed because of land mines planted by the Khmer Rouge.
