Radio Phnom Penh made a cautious conciliatory statement to Thailand's new military junta, the Revolutionary Council, which overthrew the Tanin Kraivixien government. The statement refered to the cordi al meeting between the Thai Foreign Minister Upadit Pachariyangkun and Ieng Sary on October 12, 1977 with the aim to improve relations between the two countries.
