The Cambodian government said through its news agency, SPK, that Thailand was furnishing refuge to the Khmer Rouge leaders and was permitting them to provoke trouble in Kampuchea. Thai Prime Minister Kriangsak Chamanand defended allowing Khmer Rouge leaders to pass through, noting that Thailand like many other countries still recognises the Khmer Rouge regime as the sole representatives of Kampuch ea.
