Summary / Abstract :
Deputy Supreme Commander General Kriangsak Chomanan said Thai people were peace loving people and had always tried to help Cambodia. But since it was obvious that Cambodia intended to invade Thailand, Thai people may no longer be patient. Thai Foreing Minister Upadit Pachariyangkun said Thailand had handed over the protest notes to Cambodia through its representatives in Poipet, Laos, China and th e United States. Thai Interior Minister Samak Sundaravej said there had used to be a canal dividing Thailand and Cambodia at Ban Noi Parai Village in Prachinburi Province, but the canan disappeared. T herefore Cambodia thought that Ban Noi Parai was its territory. He suggested the Thai government build up a 48-kilometer wall along the border.
